The most important tasks for the Beyond EPICA ice core project in the Signal preservation consortium are:
♦ Put together available data on signal preservation from the bottom part of ice cores
♦ Controlled ice diffusion experiment
♦ Effect of storage
♦ Monitor new science on chemical alteration of mineral
♦ The effect of grain
♦ Improve accumulation rate estimates
♦ Map relevant physical processes affecting the snow surface climate signal
