Drilling in shift continues in a stable mode. We are still drilling 4 to 4.5 meters cores.

Today, the Australian traverse reached the drilling site a few km from LDC. This is a logistical traverse which will drop off some of the equipment they will need for deep drilling (probably next year).

Processing is going well and another 22m have been analyzed and made ready for shipment to Europe.

What we did today at LDC:

  • drilled in shift;
  • processed 22 ice cores.

End of day statistics at 19h30:

  • Driller’s depth: 1535.70 m;
  • we made 4 runs between this morning 11h and 19h30 today. The length of the cores was: 4.5, 4.49, 4.48, 4.47 and 4.46 (driller length), for a total of 15.73 meters.
