Work is progressing well @LDC. The team is very close-knit and while the logistical work for the opening of the field proceeds, in parallel the drillers, scientists and all the staff are busy with the reopening of the drilling tent and assembly the necessary instrumentation. Practically all the material to be able to start drilling is in the field, even if we are still waiting for further instruments which should be transported today to the Mario Zucchelli station and then to Concordia.

What we did today:

- upgraded electrical installation in drill tent according to plans from last year

- mounted tower control cabinet

- mounted winch control cabinet

- laid out grids

- changed well-head (slush pan)

- fixed several minor stuff

- core logging support structure assembled and roughly aligned in drill tent

- second core logging structure assembled and installed in core storage

- temperature in core storage area -48°C

- even with shade, sunlight still falls on logging table

Markus and Florian are in Concordia working in setting up the DEP and the Swiss saw in the Cold lab of Concordia. Plans have been made on the cutting and measurement organization. The support from Concordia Team is simply great.
