We slowly resumed our activities on Sunday morning, continuing the actions that had been started the day before.

What we did today at LDC:

  • we finished setting up the horizontal saw including the cyclone spinner for saw dust collection. It will be tested tomorrow;
  • we are still busy calibrating the DEP taking into account advise from Frank in Europe;
  • we finished setting up the logging table – it is now ready to receive ice cores;
  • we finished repairing the mast structure (where pistons are attached);
  • we tested again mast tilting and tower alignment with the borehole;
  • we are still working on the electrical connections on the antitorque section;
  • we are wiring two communication cables between the recreation tent and the science trench for continuous temperature monitoring;
  • we rewired the small extraction table winch;
  • we finished to set up the FED on the extraction table;
  • we re-aligned the extraction table with the tilting tower.
