After a difficult start yesterday, we have had quite a stable drilling mode, enabling us once again to obtain cores over four meters long.

Same in the science trench, after some problems yesterday, the day has been easier and processing is going well.

What we did today at LDC:

  • drilled in shift;
  • processed 27 ice cores;
  • did some BAS geophysical measurements;
  • some science activites at Concordia.

End of day statistics at 19h30:

  • Driller’s depth: 1414.08 m;
  • we made 7 runs between 19h30 yesterday and 19h30 today. The length of the cores was: 4, 4.17, 4.24, 4.49, 4.43, 4.18, 4.56, and 4.63 (driller length), for a total of 34.7 meters.
