As yesterday, drilling in shift continues in a stable mode.

We had a visit from our Australian colleagues and neighbors, who took part in a pizza party and visited our camp.

Processing is going well and another 40m have been analyzed and made ready for shipment to Europe.

What we did today at LDC:

  • drilled in shift;
  • processed 40 ice cores;
  • we successfully tested the dual tube snow sampler;
  • we get through bag 1500 at processing and through run 600 at drilling;
  • prepared pizza for more than 25 persons.


End of day statistics at 19h30:

  • Driller’s depth: 1569.24 m;
  • we made 8 runs between yesterday 19h30 and 19h30 today. The length of the cores was: 4.4, 4.4, 4.20, 4.41, 4.44, 4.38, 2.25 and 4.43 (driller length), for a total of 32.91 meters.
  • Logger’s depth:1569.75 m.
  • Current processing depth: 1515 m; daily total: 40 m; season total: 1191 m.
