Weather at LDC 1 pm: sunny, T = -18.1°C, Wind = 1.5 m/s

After the problems of the last two days, we resumed drilling in a slightly more stable mode. To minimize the risks, we slightly reduced the winching speed. We have had some issues with the “PIG” that we are trying to fix.

The first LDC personnel have started to leave the camp, so that we can gradually close it down.

We also started to clean and pack some stuff.

Processing is going well and another 16m have been analyzed and made ready for shipment to Europe.

What we did today at LDC:

  • drilling in shift;
  • processed 16 ice cores;
  • started cleaning and packing;
  • said goodbye to our friends leaving LDC.

End of day statistics at 19h30:
